Our minds are limited by definition and only 'knowing how to see' can change it. They then still need to constantly negotiate with others about what it is what they see and whether it is the same, before they can adopt one common view. Saper vedere (knowing how to see) was one of Leonardo’s mottoes, and the cornerstone of his artistic and scientific work.
